  1. Joel, I was reading Peter Brown’s The Rise of Western Christendom over Christmas break before I ground to a halt at the beginning of the semester. I hope to get back to it soon. I’ll be interested to see any comments that you have on the books that you posted here.

    It’s great to be able to read someone with an interest in the Early Church Fathers. I’m fascinated with this period but have only a cursory knowledge of it — enough to teach about it in survey Western Civ courses. I’m looking forward to your insights.

    I do love the Church Fathers. If I could, I would get a degree in Patristics.
    I don’t know that I’ll have any insights, but I’ll spread my thoughts around!

  3. I can’t either. I was just going to say that most of Jacques Paul Migne’s printed books are online. But is is a moot point. Curse my public school education.
